Mintstick -:- How to install the latest version on Ubuntu based systems

Brief introduction...

This time on this small tutorial, we show how to install the latest version of Mintstick using the Terminal.

So, what is it...

       Mintstick is a simple graphical interface with which we can easily create a bootable USB stick, as also format the pendrive / memory card as FAT, NTFS, EXT3, EXT4 or any other format.

       This tool was originally created for Linux Mint, but can be installed on other GNU / Linux distributions. Usage is very simple, just start MintStick load the ISO image file of the Linux Mint or other distribution of Linux and start the transfer.

If you are running Linux Mint, this isn't a "How to..." for you.
Mintstick comes by default on Linux Mint... in all flavors!

How to install on Ubuntu (14.04 > 16.04 ) based systems?
Like: Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Lite, elemntaryOS, Peppermint, Makulu Linux, ChaletOS, etc...
( On April 23, 2016, the "1.2.8" version  is the latest version available )

Open your terminal, then copy and paste the follow command lines

  • 1st Step:   Getting Files 
    • wget -O mintstick_1.2.8_all.deb

  • 2nd Step:   Installing Files
    For this operation, you need to have " Gdebi " pre-installed on your system. You can easily install by this command line: sudo apt-get install gdebi
    • sudo gdebi mintstick_1.2.8_all.deb

    If for any reason, you aren't satisfied with this application, you can always remove it. 
    Just copy and paste the follow command line, into the terminal.
      • sudo apt-get remove mintstick

    And that's it...
    Enjoy your new, and helpful image writer application!
